Texas State grad among those killed in crash

A Texas State University graduate was among those killed on Monday when their military transport plane crashed in Mississippi.

Though the names of those killed have not been officially released, news outlets are reporting, as per the family, that 31-year-old Joshua Snowden, a Marine stationed in New York, died in the crash.

Texas State spokesman Matthew Flores said Snowden graduated in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies. He also played lacrosse, which is a club sport at Texas State.

Snowden grew up in Dallas and graduated from Highland Park High School.

Though a cause for the crash is still unknown, the Associated Press is reporting that the plane appeared to have developed problems while high in the air.
