Texas State was forced to play on the road for a month after the university announced they were hosting the 2024 Presidential Debate in September. To compensate for not being able to use Strahan, the Bobcats went on a week long road trip to Hawaii.

How a presidential debate forced the Bobcats on a month long road swing into Hawaii
Texas State and Sam Houston games from 1983,
2001 and 2011. The Bobcats and the Bearkats have played since 1915 with over 90 games played between the two rivals. This Saturday’s meeting will be the first since 2011.
